About Faye Purbrick

Faye Purbrick grew up and attended school and college in Somerset, eventually moving overseas to build her career before returning to Somerset to be close to her family.

Faye stood as the Conservative candidate for the Somerton and Frome by election in 2023. She has served as a Somerset Councillor since 2017 where she was appointed as the lead member for both education and council transformation (until May 2022).  Faye led various projects to improve services, deliver better value for taxpayers and simplify processes.  This included the country’s first county wide programme using robot avatars to help young people maintain their access to education when facing complex health challenges.  She led on a major school building programme for Somerset, recognised as delivering the best value school builds by the Secretary of State for education, and championed the installation of more solar panels and net zero school construction to reduce school energy and running costs.

Faye’s publishing career started in Somerton, for a small company on the Bancombe Road Trading Estate and she worked her way up to being a publisher for an economics magazine based in Dubai. After launching a new economics research brand, serving businesses that were looking to expand and grow across the Middle East and North Africa, she moved into the Construction industry helping project management companies to secure work and develop.  Back in Somerset, Faye runs her own business supporting clients in the construction and engineering industries. She also provides training and development services through SW Councils for councillors and council workers across the South West.

Faye has proven time and again that she has the ideas and the ability to deliver change and improvements in both the private and public sector. She has served as a hospital governor, charity trustee, school governor, mentor, and Town Councillor and is dedicated to finding new ways to strengthen and support communities and businesses so that they can thrive.
